Documents Needed for Company & LLP Registration: Checklist

Use this checklist to prepare for registering a private limited company, One Person Company (OPC) or LLP. Once these are ready, registration usually takes about 7 to 15 working days.

For each director or designated partner

PAN card
Aadhaar card
Passport-size photograph
Proof of residential address: bank statement, electricity or mobile bill (not older than two months)
Personal email address and mobile number
Passport, for foreign nationals and NRIs

For each shareholder or partner (if different)

The same documents as for directors
For a company or LLP that will be a shareholder or partner: its incorporation certificate, PAN and authorisation

Registered office

Recent utility bill (electricity, water or gas) for the office address, not older than two months
Rent agreement, if the premises are rented
No-objection certificate from the owner of the premises

About the company or LLP

Two or more proposed names, in order of preference
Main business activities
Proposed authorised and paid-up capital (for a company) or contribution (for an LLP)
Shareholding or profit-sharing ratio between the members

After registration (we help with these)

Bank account opening using the certificate of incorporation and PAN
Appointment of the first auditor within 30 days
First board meeting and share certificates
GST registration, if required
