How we collect, use and protect your personal data

Last updated: 25 October 2026

Garry & Associates, Chartered Accountants (“we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect through www.garryassociates.co.in and feedback.garryassociates.co.in, why we collect it, and the choices and rights you have. It is written in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and our duty of confidentiality as Chartered Accountants under the Code of Ethics issued by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

1. Who we are

Garry & Associates, Chartered Accountants
256J/5, First Floor, Bypass Road (Kalavasal), Bethaniya Puram, Madurai, Tamil Nadu 625010, India
Email: contact@garryassociates.co.in · Phone: +91 81488 69990

2. What we collect

We only collect what you choose to give us, plus limited technical data needed to run the website.

  • Enquiry form (Contact page): your name, email, phone number, organisation (optional), the service you are interested in and your message.
  • Appointment booking (Book page): your name, email, phone number, organisation (optional), how you would like to meet, the date and time you choose, the topic and any notes you add.
  • Client feedback form (feedback.garryassociates.co.in): your name, contact details, the services you used, your ratings and comments.
  • Secure client portal (only for clients we invite): your name, email address and phone number, the documents you upload and the documents we share with you, and a record of logins, uploads and downloads. You log in with a one-time code sent to your email. The portal does not use Google Analytics.
  • Secure links for portal login details (only when we send you one): login details for portals such as Income Tax or GST that you choose to share with us, and details we share with you. They are encrypted on your device before they are sent, so our web server cannot read them; only our firm can. Login details you send us are kept until we delete them; links we send you are destroyed within 30 days.
  • Technical data: to prevent spam and abuse we store a scrambled (one-way) code made from your internet connection’s IP address, not the address itself, along with your browser type. The forms use a temporary session cookie that is deleted when you close your browser.
  • Website analytics: we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (for example which pages are visited). Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your approximate location, device and pages viewed. It does not give us your name or contact details.

Please do not send us sensitive documents or financial details through the website forms. If we need documents for an engagement, we will tell you a secure way to share them.

3. Why we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and discuss how we can help.
  • To schedule your appointment, send you a confirmation and a calendar invite, and remind you the day before.
  • To record and act on your feedback and improve our services.
  • To keep the website secure and prevent spam or misuse.
  • To understand, in general terms, how the website is used, so we can improve it.

We process your personal data on the basis of the consent you give when you submit a form (you tick a box to agree), and for legitimate uses permitted by law. We do not use your data for any other purpose, and we never sell it.

4. Who we share it with

Your details stay within our firm. We use a small number of service providers who process data only on our behalf:

  • Hostinger: hosts our website and stores the form submissions in a secured database.
  • Zoho Mail: sends and receives our emails, including booking confirmations and reminders.
  • Google: provides Google Analytics and the embedded Google Maps on our contact page.

We may disclose information if required by law, regulation or the order of a competent authority. We do not share your data with anyone for marketing.

5. How long we keep it

We keep enquiries, bookings and feedback only for as long as needed for the purpose they were collected, and for any period required for professional or legal record-keeping. When you become a client, records connected to your engagement are kept as required by applicable laws and professional standards. Documents in the secure client portal are stored outside the public website, are visible only to you and to our firm, and are deleted from the portal 30 days after we mark the related work as complete. You can ask us to delete data we no longer need at any time.

6. How we protect it

The website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Form submissions are stored in a password-protected database that only our firm can access, and the administration pages are protected by a password. Our professional duty of confidentiality applies to all information you share with us.

7. Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you have the right to:

  • ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
  • ask us to correct, complete or update your data;
  • ask us to erase your data where it is no longer needed;
  • withdraw your consent at any time (this does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it);
  • nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of death or incapacity; and
  • have your grievances addressed.

To use any of these rights, email contact@garryassociates.co.in or call +91 81488 69990. We will respond as soon as possible.

8. Grievances

If you have a concern about how we handle your personal data, please contact us first at contact@garryassociates.co.in and we will try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.

9. Cookies

We use a temporary session cookie for the forms and Google Analytics cookies for visit statistics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the website will still work, although forms may ask you to submit again.

10. Children

This website is not directed at children. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to contact us on your behalf.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
